About Kairos

The Kairos Course is a mission mobilization course designed to educate, inspire and challenge Christians towards becoming “world Christians”, leading to active and meaningful cross-cultural ministry participation.

It is ideally suited to be conducted in local churches, with organizations or with special interest groups such as Christian businesspeople.

The Kairos Course is divided into nine-sessions and covers the four main areas of mission concern which are the Biblical, Historical, Strategic and Cultural dimensions of mission.
The Kairos Course utilizes a variety of adult learning styles including group discussions, short lecture introduction, devotions, video teaching and student participation in specially designed activities.
The Kairos Course can be conducted using a number of different formats that best suits the situation or the people taking the course.

Common formats are as follows:

  1. One evening per week, over nine weeks – this requires approximately 2½ hours of classroom time each meeting.
  2. Two evenings per week for 4½ weeks.
  3. Three weekends or four Saturdays.
  4. A one week full-time intensive course.

“Kairos is probably the single most powerful tool that God has used to both educate and mobilize the Philippine church for missions. Over the years I have met numerous Philippine church leaders that trace their decision to become involved in missions back to attending a Kairos Course. It has also been a helpful starting place for partnerships, bringing people together around a common understanding of missions. Now everywhere I go people are talking about missions.”

~ Senior American missionary working in the Philippines

Now in its third edition, the Kairos course is being used in more than forty countries and has been translated into ten languages.

The Kairos Course belongs to the whole Body of Christ. We are committed to making it available for the Church in all countries both western and non-western. Our passion is that the whole Church be mobilized for meaningful mission to the world’s remaining least–reached peoples!

The course borrows material from the Perspectives on the World Christian Movement. Kairos is part of the Perspectives family of Courses!
