Mobilizers' Coalition

The Mobilizers Coalition  is for the purpose of encouraging mission leaders, church and denominational leaders, student leaders and other influencers within the Body of Christ to work towards ensuring general mission mobilization takes place among all believers and all churches.

Example Philippines
We agree to a collaborative effort, by forming a “Mission Mobilizers Coalition”, that ensures all Filipino Christians receive a compelling presentation, of God’s mission, to all peoples on earth.

General Mobilization Explained
General mobilization has as its goal the formation of “World Christians,” where Christians understand that they are blessed to be a blessing and saved to serve the purposes of God, as articulated in the Great Commission and are prepared to engage meaningfully and sacrificially.

General mobilization lays the foundation for all mission endeavors!  From general mobilization would come specific mobilization which involves recruitment by Agencies for cross-cultural involvement and then, for some, field ministry. Without thorough general mobilization, specific mobilization and field work suffer severely!

The target groups for general mobilization are:

1. Church Leaders
Church leaders are critical influences when it comes to the ministry direction of a local church. It is of critical importance that church leaders be oriented to missions and convinced of the worth of pursuing a commitment to cross-cultural mission.

2. Church Members
If the vast majority of believers are also church attendees, say 90%. Then it makes sense to target church members for mission mobilization in the context of the local church.

3. Students
Students, especially College students, are at a critical season of their lives. This is a time when their world-view is significantly fashioned along with their beliefs and values. Critical decisions they make for their future are often decided during their few years at College!  It is important that Christian students be given a clear understanding of the purpose and plan of God and to discover how they might contribute to God global purpose.

Modus Operandi  (Approach)

The Mobilizers Coalition is not, an organization, nor a decision making body for mission projects and programs.  Rather it encourages participating partners to initiate programs and events that help to further the objectives of the Coalition.  It encourages cooperation, the sharing of resources and joint planning for programs and ministries.

Coalition Implementation
Initiating and implementing a Mission Mobilizers Coalition is not easy. It requires the favour of God, the right timing and sensitive and patient processes of implementation.  We have adopted the IPA approach to partnership formation as a guideline!

Conclusion
The Kairos course often brings us into favour with the Body of Christ in a nation and provides an open door to pursue the formation of a Mobilizers Coalition. We hope we can take advantage of these opportunities to train Kairos people, who are “partner sensitive” in countries where Kairos has been welcomed, to initiate such coalitions.
